On 4th April, we returned, with old friends and new, to the Star of Kings for Unsung Live. This 8th instalment took place on the birthdays of an impressive set of people, including Dan Simmons, Maya Angelou and Andrei Tarkovsky. It was also the day Winston Smith starts his diary in George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four, for anyone following our Kickstarter for 2084.
As winter hightailed it out of the city, and lighter evenings started their slow creep into the year, Unsung Stories once again cracked out the microphone and teased more authors out of their sanctuaries...
Thanks to everyone who came down to the sixth instalment of Unsung Live last night at The Star of Kings for another night showcasing some of the best in contemporary speculative short fiction.
Thanks to everyone who came down to Unsung Live 4 last night at The Star of Kings. Fresh off the back of the Nine Worlds convention, it was great to see so many people still up for spending their Tuesday night in a pub listening to speculative short fiction.
We are delighted to say that we will be at the upcoming Nine Worlds Convention at Novotel London West in Hammersmith, 12-14 August 2016!
We'll have our stall there so come say hi to George and Gary, and of course pick up some Unsung titles.
Unsung authors will be speaking on panels at Nine Worlds so here's a list of events featuring Oliver Langmead, Ian Hocking and Aliya Whiteley, plus editor George Sandison
You can listen to the complete audio from Unsung Live over on our Soundcloud page
We'd like to say a big thanks to everyone who came along to Unsung Live 3 last night at The Star of Kings for making it a special evening.
Unsung Live #3
Wednesday 27th April, 7pm
126 York Way, London N1 OAX
After the success and all-round fun of Unsung Live #2, we're happy to announce our return to The Star of Kings for our third evening of storytelling for fans of speculative fiction. The event is FREE but space is limited, so make sure to RSVP on our Meetup page.
We are very happy to announce that Unsung Live #2 will take place on 20th October at the Star of Kings, Kings Cross.
We learned something interesting recently: With all the live-lit and storytelling nights in London, we couldn't find any for science fiction and fantasy. Just imagine that. Really, there was only one sensible thing we could do - start one up.
