On 20 March 2015 at 09:31 GMT, a historic solar eclipse will send the UK into darkness. Birds will fall silent, the daylight will turn grey, and the people of Britain will briefly be transported to Vox, Dark Star's setting, a world with a dead sun.
This cosmic event is also the same day that we will be officially launching Dark Star - the debut novel by Oliver Langmead. Everything relating to the launch is on time - which is fortunate because the next time the planets align again will be in 2026.
It's important to note that it is never safe to look at a partial or annular eclipse, or the partial phases of a total solar eclipse, without the proper equipment and techniques. That's NASA's advice. So one of the side projects we've been working on are special Dark Star Solar Eclipse Viewers.
