Not content with getting on the honors list at the 2015 James Tiptree Awards, Unsung's very own Aliya Whiteley has just nabbed herself a place on the shortlist at the 2015 Saboteur Awards.
The Saboteur Awards are run by Sabotage Reviews and were established to provide reviews and commentary for small-scale and ephemeral literature: Things that are amazing, but that otherwise pass under the radar. Founder Claire Trévlen says Sabotage 'stand for inclusiveness and commitment to new voices in literature.' Basically, it's a Pandora's Box of talented people outside mainstream publishing, which makes it a wonderful thing.
Also nominated this year are fellow East London publishers, the generally froody chaps at Influx Press, who are up for Most Innovative Publisher. Kit '50%-Influx' Caless, along with Aki Schilz, gets a second nod in the Best Collaborative Work for #LossLit. So rounds of applause for all of them as well please!
The Saboteur Awards are chosen by a public vote, with nearly 1000 votes cast by the time of writing. Voting is open until 24th May and you can cast your own vote on the Saboteur Awards website.
