Dark Star on the Not the Booker shortlist

We did it! Or more accurately, you did it. That's right, Dark Star is on the shortlist for the Not the Booker award at the Guardian, coming third out of seventy in the voting. Third! Who needs the opinions of the Mid-Galactic Arts Nobbling Council when you have readers like you lot?

This means Oliver is into the final 6 for the chance to win, prize of prizes, that highly coveted Guardian mug. The reviews of the shortlisted titles have been going up, with Dark Star up last weekend. You can read what Sam thought of it here:

The judging panel is made up of readers who have been reading along and posting reviews on the site, with the decision being announced at the start of October. We're waiting most impatiently here, as you can imagine.

Make sure to check out the other shortlisted titles as well. We're up against some really interesting and distinctive books. We're really looking forward to seeing how the readers and judges enjoy Dark Star and how it compares to the shortlist. Maybe even toasting them with Oliver's new mug.
